From the moment you walk through the door, until Mimi takes her last breath, experience Bohemian Paris of the 1800’s. Enjoy the opera café-style where you will meet Rodolfo and Mimi, opera’s most famous couple, as they struggle with the cold harsh realities of bohemian life. Directed by Chicago Opera Theater’s Andrew Eggert, with Musical Direction by critically acclaimed conductor and music director Francesco Milioto, starring young, talented singers currently performing with major opera houses across the U.S. and abroad including: Lawrence Johnson as Rodolfo, Veronica Mitina as Mimi and Michael Mayes as Marcello, Ken Mattice as Schaunard and Andrew Schultze as Benoit/Alcindoro. Set Design—Matthew Morton, Costume Design—Tatjana Radisic, Lighting Design—Dustin Efird. Sung in Italian with dramatic narration.

Opera Theatre remounts its highly acclaimed production combining elements of Shakespeare’s dramatization, Gounod’s opera and Bernstein’s West Side Story. Maestro Francesco Milioto and Stage Director Jay Paul Skelton return to direct Lyric Opera Center soprano, Stacey Tappan, tenor Jay Morrissey and Chicago actors in this novel and compelling production with the Highland Park Strings.
